The best player in the Premier League has been linked with Barcelona, but he might not join the best team in the world after all.
According to multiple reports in England, Riyad Mahrez has made a final decision to stay with Premier League champions Leicester City next season, rejecting offers from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, who were all keen on signing the Algerian this summer.
Along with Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kanté, Mahrez was one of Leicester's most desired stars. Vardy signed an extension a few months ago and will stay with the Foxes, while Kanté is interested in a move away from Leicester to join Manchester United. Mahrez was heavily linked with PSG and Arsenal, who made formal approaches to try and sign the 25-year-old midfielder, but as time went on, reports began to surface about the player signing an extension with his current club and receive a big raise in his salary.
But with the Barça rumors growing, and Mahrez continuing to mention the Blaugrana interest in his interviews, some thought there was a chance the PFA Player of the Year would move to Catalonia next season. However, Claudio Ranieri's brightest star is apparently keen on showing his loyalty to the Foxes and trying to make a shocking run in the Champions League with the shocking Premier League champs.
It might be a wrong move to reject the world's best team, but Mahrez is not going anywhere.
