Talking about rumors surrounding football is a fun activity for many fans, maybe only second to actually watching football. In this new daily column, we'll take a look at the latest rumors floating around the rumor mill.

Key reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt. And please don't yell at us. We're just reporting.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Barcelona wants to shield Neymar from possible approaches from other clubs in the upcoming transfer window, and according to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are planning to increase his buyout clause from €190 million to €220 million.
  • Real Madrid's scouting team is closely watching two Brazilian stars: according to Diario AS, Los Blancos want Gabriel Barbosa and Lucas Lima, two of the most promising players in the Brazilian league. Both are from Santos, where players like Pelé and Neymar started. Yeah, good club.
  • Despite a horrific leg injury that ended his season, midfielder Tiago does not have to worry about leaving his current club as Atlético Madrid plan to extend his contract, which expires this summer.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo is once again back to Paris Saint-Germain's rumor mill. France Football magazine made a list of potential PSG signings this summer, and the Real Madrid striker was at the top of it, wearing a (photoshopped) Paris jersey.
If you have heard of any rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are only rumors and not facts, so please take them as such. Have fun!
