The legendary career of a Barcelona great appears to be just three games away from its end.
According to reports in Spain, the Catalan giants are close to reaching a deal with a Chinese Super League club for Brazilian full-back Dani Alves. There is no word on the transfer fee agreed between the two clubs, but Alves will get a gigantic three-year contract worth almost €40 million in salaries.
Alves' potential departure is a topic of extensive conversation since last season, when the full-back said he would leave for a Premier League team before the start of the current campaign. A deal with Liverpool was all but wrapped up, but at the last minute, thanks to a Treble, the Brazilian decided to stay around and win a few more trophies before moving away from the Blaugrana for good.
If the deal goes through, Barça would use the money to spearhead the squad overhaul they are planning for next season, with the defense especially going through a major change. Alves might be the first of plenty of departures that will happen over the next few months. If he goes, he'll be missed. What a legend.
