As Barcelona get closer to making a signing this summer, they might be getting some competition.

According to reports in Spain, Hatem Ben Arfa, who is rumored to be closing in on a personal deal with Barça, is also on Chelsea's transfer list for this summer. The possibility of signing the talented Frenchman for free is undeniably tempting for every top team in Europe, and new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is interested in bringing the Ligue 1 star to the Blues.

Ben Arfa has revitalized his career after a poor Premier League stint when he moved to OSG Nice, a smaller yet competitive club that gave him a chance to be the star of the show and maybe catch the eye of the big teams again. He certainly did that and became one of the French league most exciting performers, and with the prospect of signing for a bigger team, the 29-year-old forward decided not to extend his Nice contract and will leave this summer.

Barça officials reportedly met with Ben Arfa's agents several times over the last few months, and the parties appear to be closing in on a salary deal that pleases everyone and brings the France international as a backup to the 'MSN' trio. But clubs like Chelsea will certainly offer big wages to try and gazump Barça, but the Blaugrana seem pretty confident that they will secure the signing.

What do you think, Blaugranes? Are you happy with Ben Arfa not joining Barça and going to Chelsea, or do you want him at Camp Nou?
