Euro 2016: 16 June 2016; Live Open Thread

Another day of Euro 2016 football starts on Thursday, and it promises to be one of the best. Two rival nations clash in a huge game with knockout round implications, while the World Cup winners face a familiar enemy to close out the day.

First up, England vs Wales, certainly the most anticipated clash of the day. After a great performances overshadowed by a late equalizer, the Three Lions need a victory. Roy Hodgson has a young, talented squad at his disposal who looks ready for big, bright things at this tournament, but that all goes away with a loss or even a draw. Even though there will be one game left to play, a result other than a win would hurt England. The problem is they face Gareth Bale and Wales. The two teams don't like each other, and we should be in for a treat.

Up next, Ukraine versus Northern Ireland... Well... Uh... Yeah, let's skip that one.

And then, Germany vs Poland. You've certainly watched these two face each other a million other times in the past. Just like easy Champions League groups for Real Madrid, this is a matchup you will see in a UEFA competition. But there are plenty of attractions: the many Bayern Munich players in the German squad will face the team's superstar striker, Robert Lewandowski. Poland is a dangerous side who can hurt you in many ways, and we know how good Germany is. Should be fun as well.
