Spain defeated Turkey 3-0 on Friday night in possibly the most stunning performance from any team so far at Euro 2016. And with Pique’s late goal having grabbed a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic in their opening fixture, six points out of six were enough to seal a place in the next round with a game in hand.

In their second match of Euro 2016, Spain defeated Turkey 3-0 and locked up a spot in the knockout stages. Coach Vicente del Bosque chose the same lineup that had defeated the Czech Republic in the opening match. The decision proved correct, as the ball ran as fast as it had against the Czechs, but the Spaniards added some finishing power to earn a comfortable win.

A flare exploded in a steward’s face as Croatia fans threw fireworks on to the pitch and fought among themselves during their draw with the Czech Republic. UEFA will open disciplinary proceedings on Saturday after receiving referee Mark Clattenburg’s report into the incident and Croatia’s players fear they will be expelled from the tournament.
