After an underwhelming first day of Round of 16 matches, yesterday proved much more eventful. First France fought back after an early deficit to dispose of a resilient Republic of Ireland, which paved the way for two blowouts. Germany completely dismantled Slovakia to the tune of 3-0 and later Belgium one-upped the Germans, earning a 4-0 win over Hungary who had a fair share of chances themselves.

Today marks the last day of Round of 16 matches, and with only two spots left in the Quarter-Final there will only be two matches today. First up is arguably the most anticipated match of the Euro so far, as powerhouses of European football Italy and Spain will take on each other. Italy impressed in the group stages, only losing to a desperate Ireland while playing with their second team. Spain also looked to be building steam from one game to the other only to be stopped by a Croatia comeback in the last round. The amount of talent on both teams is staggering which should result in a mouth-watering contest.

Last but not least, Iceland will try to continue one of the best stories of the Euro by getting past their biggest challenge yet - England. Considered outsiders by many, Iceland are undefeated in their Euro campaign, winning one and drawing two, which is coincidentally the same record as England have. Iceland proved to be a thorn in the side of every team they faced so far and it is not expected they wold make England any favors today. Still, England are a big favorite in this match-up but Iceland could provide us wit the next surprise of this Euro.
