FC Barcelona News: 6 August 2016; Barça set for Liverpool friendly, Luis Suárez to face former club

The team set off from El Prat just after 9.00am CET and landed at Luton airport at 11.30am. They will now head to the team hotel before the match at the famous stadium in the English capital. Vice-president Jordi Mestre and Espai Barça commissioner Jordi Moix also joined the squad on the trip.

FC Barcelona will be going for a clean sweep in their third and final friendly of the 2016 International Champions Cup when they take on Liverpool Saturday evening at Wembley Stadium in London. Kick-off is set for 5.15pm BST (6.15pm CET).

Samuel Umtiti trained for the first time as an FC Barcelona player on a sunny Saturday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva. Returning to work two days ahead of schedule, the strong Frenchman took part in a workout session joined by Cristian Tello.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez admits Liverpool remain “so important” to him and that “it’d be difficult” to play against the Reds in a competitive match. Suarez will face Liverpool as a Barca player for the first time when the two sides meet in Saturday’s final International Champions Cup friendly at Wembley, the Uruguayan having scored 82 goals in 133 appearances for the Reds prior to his €82m Blaugrana switch in 2014.
