Barcelona suffered a shocking, disappointing loss against Deportivo Alavés on Saturday at Camp Nou, and the Blaugrana were obviously not happy after the match.
The players usually flood social media after most games, but only the captain showed up on Twitter after Saturday's loss:
Derrota inesperada. Corregir, trabajar y seguir mejorando. Força Barça!!— Andrés Iniesta (@andresiniesta8) September 10, 2016
"Unexpected defeat. We have to correct, work and keep improving. Força Barça!!"
Plenty of Barça stars did talk to the media after the game, though, and manager Luis Enrique also gave his take on a tough Saturday night. Here's a rundown of thier post-match quotes:
“We were not precise in what we did, but this allows us to value what we have done previously. To win is always difficult. We have always been conscious of how tough it is to win, but this helps us to understand how difficult it is.
“Alavés were very serious, very well organized, and practically with just three chances scored two goals. We did things very well. Also, they played with a system they had not used before, a very deep 5-4-1.
“We improved in the second half, and in the end we had chances to go ahead but we have to everything: we lacked fluidity, clarity and precision in attack and were fragile in defence.
"We tried to include those who were fresher, most of the rotations were due to the circumstances surrounding us. The players tried and gave it their best.”
“[The international break] always has a bit of an effect, but we do not want to make excuses.
“We must pick ourselves up quickly as we have an important game (against Celtic in the Champions League) on Tuesday.”
“Many things were missing, it was a very tough game and a much deserved win for Alavés. The international break cannot be an excuse. The manager decides who plays and there are many matches ahead.”
"At the moment, things have not started well as we have lost. We will try to improve for Tuesday. I felt very comfortable because, both at Ajax and the Dutch national team, we play in a similar way to Barça.”
