Barcelona kicked off the Champions League season in exciting fashion, dominating Celtic FC en route to a spectacular 7-0 victory, thanks to goals from Lionel Messi (3), Neymar Jr., Andrés Iniesta and Luis Suárez (2). Barça played great football, scored goals and recovered very well from last weekend's disappointing loss to Alavés.

FIRST HALF

After last Saturday's poor performance, Barça looked a completely different team, both in names and quality of play. The Blaugrana were totally dominant for the entire 45 minutes, using possession and off-ball movement to find plenty of gaps in the opponent's defense.

Leo Messi and Neymar were sublime, and the two combined for both Barça goals in the half. First, a short corner sequence ended with a fantastic pass from Neymar to Messi, who launched a rocket to the top corner to open the scoring after just two minutes. Leo and Ney then created a breahtaking sequence of passes between them, which ended with Neymar once again assisting Messi for a sensational second goal. The only low moment happened when Ter Stegen fouled Moussa Dembélé in the box, but the Barça keeper saved the penalty to correct his own mistake.

At halftime, a very good performance and a comfortable lead that could be increased in the final period if the Catalans maintained their level of play.

SECOND HALF

If there was any chance that Celtic would come back to the game, it was all erased after just four minutes, when Neymar took a spectacular free-kick into the top corner to score Barça's third and end the match.

Neymar continued his amazing night finding Iniesta, who fired a rocket with his right foot to make it 4-0. Thirty seconds later, a quick counter-attack involving the 'MSN' trio ended with Messi's hat-trick goal after a Suárez assist. 5-0 victory, that got bigger when Neymar recorded his FOURTH assist in the match, with Suárez scoring a fantastic goal to make it six for the Catalans. Suárez got another goal off a Messi assist, and the score was 7-0.

In the end, a fantastic victory, with loads of goals and exciting play, and a much needed confidence booster after the weekend disappointment.
