Andrés Iniesta resumes training, closing in on Barcelona return

New, comment

The captain is coming back!

Barcelona uploads a video of every training session on the website and YouTube, and there isn't anything too interesting most of the time. But Monday's video was very exciting to watch, especially for the first 110 seconds:

That is Barça captain Andrés Iniesta stepping up his recovery process as he closes in on his return to the pitch. Iniesta suffered a knee injury in the Spanish Super Cup first leg against Sevilla three weeks ago, and he's been out of action ever since. The skipper could have returned before the international break, but Iniesta and the doctors agreed to make a full recovery to avoid any complications.

According to reports in Catalonia, Iniesta is certain to play in the Champions League opener against Celtic next Tuesday, but his availability for the weekend La Liga encounter at Camp Nou with Alavés is still in doubt. Iniesta wants to make sure he's 110% ready to go, and will not rush back into the pitch unless he's fully healthy and prepared to make magic again.
