The players have changed. The coaches have changed. Form has changed. Everything has changed.
The reason Barcelona haven’t won at Real Sociead’s Anoeta stadium is not a curse. It’s a small sample size when talking about a decent-to-great team playing at home. La Real are usually at least OK, sometimes really good, and it goes double at home.
There’s no logical reason why Barcelona should lose each year, and that streak will certainly end one day.
That said, football is not always about logic... particularly watching football or following a team.
Part of the fun is the story. Australia’s national team qualified to the World Cup for the first time in over 30 years after a comic took a witch doctor onto the pitch.
Did the witch doctor really break a curse that helped Australia qualify? Of course not. At least, I really don’t think so.
But isn’t it a good story? And hey, did it hurt?
So no, it’s not really a curse. But just in case, let’s try to break it with a jinx.
BARCELONA WILL DEFINITELY LOSE AT ANOETA
