Barcelona continues their search for up-and-coming players, and there’s a pair of Colombians that have caught the eyes of the scouts. The two possibilities are both defenders: Palmeiras’s Yerry Mina and AFC Ajax’s Davinson Sánchez, according to Sport.
The team reportedly have a buy option on Mina, and they may have to use it soon as his form has picked up. The defender has impressed for his club, becoming one of the most important fixtures of Palmeiras. He’s also establishing himself at international level.
There is talk that if Barcelona do not use their buy option, another big European club like Bayern Munich will swoop in.
Sánchez has been followed by FC Barcelona for a long time, and there were rumors that the team wanted him for the B team in the past, though he did not want to go to a lower tier.
Since his arrival at Ajax, Sánchez has become a sure starter, and his performances have kept him on Barcelona’s list of prospects.
Mina is 22, which has been a favorite age of Barcelona signings of late, while Sánchez is 20. Both are right-footed centerbacks.
