Ernesto Valverde has faced the press again, ahead of this weekend’s clash with bottom side Malaga, and as always faced a range of different questions.

The Barca boss was asked about several different players, as well as the club’s transfer plans and recent reports that Kylian Mbappe wanted to move to Barca last summer.

Here are the best bits...

Valverde on Kylian Mbappe

"I don't know [if there was an opportunity to sign him in the summer], no idea. I do not know what to tell you, I guess not, because he’s not here.”

Valverde on Deulofeu

“Deulofeu played a good game against Olympiacos, he unbalanced them and he made good decisions."

Valverde on Malaga

"Malaga arrive with the need for points and we know they always make things difficult for us. We'll have to be attentive. In six days, we have three home games and we have to rotate but we'll definitely strive for three points."

Valverde on 100 days in charge of Barca

“I can say my first 100 days as Barça coach haven't been boring... let’s see if the next 100 days are a little quieter!”

Valverde on Denis Suarez

“Denis? He could play, but everyone is taking advantage of the opportunity. It's good to have a problem like this."

Valverde on Jordi Alba

"We will be very cautious with him, we do not want to rush him back. But we expect him to recover soon."

Valverde on transfers

"Barca are always look to improve the team if possible but at the same time I am focussed on getting the most out of the players we have here.”
