Barcelona continue their Copa del Rey campaign with a match-up against Real Murcia. Expect to see some Barcelona rotation on all fronts of the line-up. We won’t see Alex Vidal, Arda Turan, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta, Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Paulinho and Samuel Umtiti.
So we’re going to get to see some young Barcelona faces. Overall, from the reports and Ernesto Valverde’s press conference, it seems that each tier of the Barcelona line-up: defence, midfield, and attack; we’ll see a mix of squad players and Barcelona B up-and-comers. A nice change of pace and mix from the Blaugrana.
Let’s look at how the team could line up on Tuesday:
Defence
Between the sticks we should get Jasper Cillessen as a change of pace from the usual Ter Stegen dominance.
In front of him we may get to see some changes of pace with Nelson Semedo, Thomas Vermaelen, Javier Mascherano, and Marc Cucurella. One of the bright spots of the Barcelona B team, Cucurella is one to keep an eye on should he get the start.
Midfield
In the midfield we’ll get some change with Carles Alena, Andre Gomes, and Denis Suarez. Captain of the Barcelona B team, Alena is another B team player that should be fascinating to watch develop in games like this.
Attack
Leading the Barcelona attack we might see Gerard Deulofeu, Pacp Alcacer, and Jose Arnaiz. Yet another Barcelona B player that may get a shot in the starting line-up, Arnaiz joined Barcelona in August to help bolster the young winger ranks.
