Barcelona starlet Abel Ruiz hit a double for Spain’s Under-17 side as they beat Mali 3-1 in the last four to book a final date with England.

The youngster has enjoyed a fine tournament so far, he hit a last-minute winner in the Round of 16 to see off France, was on target against Iran in the quarter-finals and was at it again on Wednesday in Mumbai.

While B teamers Carles Alena, Marc Cucurella and Jose Arnaiz all featured for the Barca first team in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday, Ruiz has been starring for Spain in India.

The 17-year-old has scored six goals in six appearances at the tournament and it’s also worth mentioning that he’s the captain of the team.

A big, tall, powerful centre-forward Ruiz is a superb finisher and is the youngest member of the Barcelona B squad.

If he can bring the form he has shown back to Barcelona, there’s no doubt he will impress in Gerard Lopez’s squad.

It’s also worth noting that Luis Suarez turns 31 in January and there might just be a spot in the first team up for grabs in the not so distant future.
