Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta were both on target for Spain as they thrashed Costa Rica 5-0 in an international friendly on Saturday night in Malaga.

Alba opened the scoring after just six minutes, picking up a pass from David Silva at the far post before firing a low shot into the net.

Goals from Alvaro Morata and two from David Silva made it 4-0 before Iniesta powered home from the fifth into the corner.

Iniesta pulled the strings all night for Spain and fully deserved his goal although Ernesto Valvderde may not be completely thrilled at seeing him play most of the game.

There were starts too for Gerard Pique, who was replaced at half-time by Marc Bartra while Sergio Busquets also going off at the break for Saul Niguez.

Next up for Spain is a trip to Saint Petersburg to take on Russia on Tuesday night.
