Lionel Messi is set to make his 600th appearance for Barcelona tonight when Ernesto Valverde’s side welcome Sevilla to Camp Nou.

The little legend is currently third in the list of Barcelona’s all time appearance makers behind Andres Iniesta on 642 and Xavi on 767.

It’s one of the few lists he does not top and ahead of the game Barcelona have kindly provided a breakdown of the incredible stats he has posted in his 599 games for the club so far.

  • In 599 games for Barca, Messi has scored 523 goals and 197 assists.
  • His record stands at: W425, L68, D105.
  • His appearances break down by competition as follows: La Liga: 392, Champions League: 119, Copa del Rey: 62, Spanish Super Cup: 17, European Super Cup:4, Fifa Club World Cup 5.

Sevilla will also have good reason to fear Messi tonight, the Argentine has enjoyed playing the Andalusians in the past, as MessiStats show:

Messi has 12 goals in 10 La Liga appearances so far this season and you certainly wouldn’t bet against him adding to his tally in another landmark game on Saturday.
