Paco Alcácer got an important brace for FC Barcelona as they kept their gap ahead of Valencia with a 2-1 win over Sevilla. Having found playing time hard to come by, and with recurring rumors that he would be shown the door come January, things have taken quite a turn for the Spaniard.
Speaking post match, Paco said he is determined to get playing time at Barça:
“It’s clear to me that this is what I want and what I desire: keep working to get better alongside Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi, who are the best forwards in the world. I want to learn a lot from them.”
Prior to the Sevilla match, Paco had only played 7 minutes since matchday one. Even after scoring twice, he was taken off after 66 minutes.
“We all want to play and have minutes, but we have a big squad and there some players have to miss out every weekend. We have to keep working to take advantage of every opportunity the coach gives us.”
