FC Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo: Winter wonderland | FC Barcelona
The last game at the Camp Nou of 2018 was a somewhat one-sided yet gripping affair. It produced chance after chance for Barça, and such good ones too, that fans leaving the stadium were left wondering how it had ‘only’ produced four goals. It’s a win, coupled with Valencia’s defeat at Eibar, that puts Barça in a stronger position than ever in La Liga, and a massive eleven points clear of next week’s rivals – Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.

Another Iniesta masterclass against Deportivo | FC Barcelona
Few players in world football have Andrés Iniesta's ability to weave his way past the opposition. With the ball seemingly glued to his feet, the FC Barcelona star always seems to find a way through with his vision, technical skill and creativity. Against Deportivo La Coruña this past Sunday, Iniesta put on a masterclass to help his side to a 4-0 victory. Perhaps the pick of the tricks was his role in Barça's second goal of the night.

Messi does it again: woodwork three times in one game! | FC Barcelona
Lionel Messi did not get on the scoresheet againt Deportivo on Sunday but he sure did try. The Argentine hit the woodwork on no less than three occasions in a repeat of his goalshaking performance against Betis in the 2-0 win on the opening weekend of the season.

Paco Alcácer out for three weeks | FC Barcelona
If all goes well then the player could be back for the game against Levante on 7 January which is to be played three weeks from today. In the short term, Alcácer will miss the Clásico on 23 December in the Santiago Bernabéu and possibly the first leg of the Copa del Rey last 16 tie against Celta on 4 January.

Ernesto Valverde: Win a boost ahead of next weekend | FC Barcelona
The winning margin could have been greater said the coach given the amount of times his side hit the woodwork: “We are a team who attack a lot. It’s a statistic that speaks volumes about us although we would have liked some of those shots to have gone in.”

First Messi, now Suarez - Barcelona boss Valverde fumes over 'absurd' lack of VAR in La Liga | Goal
Suarez scored twice as league leaders Barca hammered Depor 4-0 at Camp Nou, but was denied a hat-trick after seeing an incredible 'rabona' finish from a narrow angle ruled not to have crossed the line late in the first half. Replays seemed to justify Suarez's mystified response to a goal not being given.

HIGHLIGHTS: Barça v Deportivo La Coruña | FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona are now unbeaten in 24 matches in all competitions after their latest win which came against Deportivo La Coruña in La Liga. The 4-0 victory came courtesy of braces for Luis Suárez and Paulino in a game in which Barça could have won by an ever great margin had it not been for the woodwork.

Leo Messi presents fourth Golden Shoe to Camp Nou | FC Barcelona
A proud Leo Messi has presented his fourth Golden Shoe trophy to an adoring Camp Nou on Sunday evening, shortly before the action got going as Barça faced Deportivo in the last home match of 2018. The Argentinian was presented with the award for scoring more goals than any other player in Europe’s top divisions at the old Estrella Damm brewery in Barcelona last November 24.

Barcelona won't give Madrid guard of honour after Club World Cup win | ESPN
However, the guard of honour is not mandatory, and Sevilla last year chose not to line up when playing in the Copa del Rey against Madrid, while former Barca coach Pep Guardiola specifically asked Hospitalet players to refrain in 2011 as he felt the Club World Cup celebrations were already over.

RIVAL WATCH: Leaders for Christmas | FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona will be spending Christmas and New Year top of the Liga table. We already knew that after Valencia tumbled to surprise defeat at Eibar on Saturday, and the 4-0 defeat of Deportivo just makes the situation even better than ever. There is now an eight-point gap between FCB and Los Che after Takashi Inui and Joan Jordan got the goals that condemned the latter to their second away defeat in a row.
