In a sneak preview of the Copa del Rey final coming up at the end of May, FC Barcelona travel to Vitoria to take on Deportivo Alavés in Week 22 of La Liga (kick off 4.15pm CET). Luis Enrique’s side are just one point behind leaders Real Madrid in the league table although Zinedine Zidane’s side do have two games in hand.

The Barça coach named his 18 man squad for the game in the Basque Country on Saturday at 4.15pm CET following training on Friday at the Ciutat Esportiva. Arda Turan missed Friday’s training session at the Ciutat Esportiva with a groin problem and was not included in the list. Rafinha is still recovering from a broken nose so he misses out as does Javier Mascherano who picked up a hamstring injury on Tuesday in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Atlético Madrid.

FC Barcelona face Alavés away at 4.15pm CET on Saturday in the 22nd LaLiga fixture of the season. The blaugranas have secured their place in the Copa del Rey final, as have Alavés for that matter. Luis Enrique spoke of this coincidence: “The fact we are going to play the Copa final against them in May is something which has nothing to do with tomorrow’s game.”

The FC Barcelona U19A side have been drawn against Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League. The draw took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon and the game between the blaugranes and the German club will take place at the Miniestadi on 21 or 22 February with the kick off time still to be confirmed. Entry will be free for what promises to be a mouthwatering one-off tie between two of Europe’s top teams.

Leo Messi and Neymar Jr will face each other in a friendly between the two South American heavyweights. Argentina and Brazil will play at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This will not be the first time the two nations have faced one another with the Barça stars in their sides. Thye have played each other five times with their national teams and their record is of two wins each and a draw. So, they go into the match with both players looking to tip the balance their way.

Messi signs a new deal… with Adidas | Goal
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has reaffirmed his commitment to sportswear manufacturer Adidas, the player has confirmed via Facebook. It is not the contract that the Camp Nou side would have wanted him to sign, given that he is still locked in negotiations of a new deal with Luis Enrique’s side, with whom his contract expires in June 2018.
