Sergi Roberto lost the ball leading to CD Leganés equalizing in Barcelona’s eventual 2-1 win. That goal put the result in the balance until a Lionel Messi penalty in the dying minutes rescued the three points.
According to a report in Sport, Roberto is fed up with playing on the right side of defense. He feels it’s not his optimal position, and his poor performances have left him feeling very down.
The report says the club has heard Roberto and will move him back into midfield, his natural position, next season. But at the moment, Barcelona is not spoiled for choice, doubly so with Aleix Vidal injured.
Javier Mascherano is the likeliest candidate to supplant Roberto, while an emergency singing is also possible.
