Luis Suárez informed FC Barcelona about a potential star in the making - young Uruguayan playmaker Nicolás De la Cruz - according to Radio1010 in their home country.

De la Cruz plays for Montevideo’s confusingly named Liverpool FC as well as the U20 Uruguayan national team, which just qualified for the upcoming U20 World Cup in South Korea.

De la Cruz scored three goals during the U20 South American qualifying as a rampant Uruguay booked their ticket.

He is the brother of Carlos Sánchez, who plays for Monterrey and has been capped by the full Uruguayan national team.

De la Cruz started at Defensor Sporting, but apparently Sánchez told him to play for Montevideo’s Liverpool, where Sánchez himself made his career. De la Cruz has been at Liverpool since 2011.
