Barcelona vs. PSG: Oh Yeah, Barça Still Haven’t Won A Trophy Yet

The remuntada is historic, but it’s not a trophy.

The feeling after a miracle 6-1 comeback against Paris Saint-Germain is elation. FC Barcelona haven’t celebrated that hard since... maybe when they won the UEFA Champions League, and maybe even then, they weren’t this euphoric.

There’s no denying it, this one goes into the history books and is a massive achievement. But hold on a second, Barcelona still have all to play for and no trophies yet.

Deportivo de La Coruña await in the league, there’s a cup final, a looming Clásico, and oh yeah, the quarterfinals of the UCL and beyond.

In some ways you could forgive Barcelona for slipping a bit against Dépor, but Real Madrid won’t be so kind, surely. They’re merely a point behind and with a game in hand.

It could be decided with an epic clash against Real Madrid in the league.

There’s also that Copa del Rey final against plucky Deportivo Alavés. It won’t be so easy, I think.

And it’s going to be a stacked Champions League, with the likes of Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid, and FC Bayern Munich still in it.

Barcelona have the players, the manager, and the conditions to pull off a treble. It’ll be extremely challenging, but they’re not in a bad position at all.

They can do it, but they need to build on the remuntada, not dwell on it.
