Barcelona have made an offer to Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon, according to influential Madrid-based journalist Diego Torres on radio station RAC1, a pretty reliable Catalan radio station.
However, Torres said Isco has not yet decided whether to accept or not.
The offer is: run down your contract, which expires in 2018, and get a 20 million euro signing bonus.
He would have to play a whole season for Real Madrid having turned down a renewal offer, with people probably aware he was likely headed for Barcelona soon. YIkes.
We have seen several rumors linking Isco to Barcelona over the past few weeks, and while any Madrid-Barcelona transfer is complicated, this one could be picking up steam. Supposedly, he would cost 35 million euro to purchase next summer.
Isco doesn’t play as much as he wants to at Madrid, and it has been the case for a while now. Again, his contract is up in 2018, meaning Madrid will be eager not to lose him for free.
Could he be the heir to Andres Iniesta? Or is it too difficult to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Luis Enrique and go from Madrid to Barcelona?
