Barcelona Legend Xavi Denies Talking to The Sun About Dele Alli, Pep Guardiola

Oh, The Sun...

“Dele Alli wanted by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in record transfer deal, says Barcelona legend Xavi” blared the headline from The Sun. In this “exclusive interview,” Xavi said “I speak with Pep, and I know he thinks it is important to sign English players” like the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, one of the best English prospects today.

There’s just one big, huge, giant, major, really important problem, according to Catalan paper Diario SPORT: Xavi himself NEVER gave any such interview to The Sun. Xavi told SPORT that he "never" has given an interview to The Sun, and "never" has spoken about Alli and “also never” given his opinion about an Alli transfer to City.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino apparently replied in a joking manner, calling Xavi “his enemy,” according to The Daily Telegraph. Pochettino had assumed the comments were true. And now... I’m distrusting any quote published online. See what you’re doing, The Sun?
