Marco Verratti will begin preseason with Paris Saint-Germain as he attempts to plot a course to leave PSG in favor of Barcelona. That's according to a new report in Diario SPORT, which contradicts earlier reports that the PSG star was set to refuse to go back to Paris at all.
Instead, Verratti and his agent, Donato Di Campli, think a softer approach will be more effective. Nasser Al-Khelafi, PSG's president, is known to oppose the move. Rather than challenging him, the Italian hopes to be conciliatory.
Then, the report says, Verratti will continue to plead his case in hopes that Barça can negotiate for his release.
That’s coming at the same time as Mundo Deportivo reports Barcelona’s opening offer for the midfielder is 70 million euros.
