UNOFFICIAL: Barcelona Agree Terms with Benfica Over Nelson Semedo’s Transfer

Multiple reports agree: FC Barcelona have a deal with Benfica to sign Nelson Semedo, AKA Nelsinho. Catalan dailies Mundo Deportivo and Diario SPORT agree, as does radio station Onda Cero.

An FC Barcelona delegation was understood to be in Portugal negotiating the details. The Catalans’ opening offer was 30 million euro, while Benfica wanted 50 million. In the end, reports say the fee will be 30 million plus 5 additional in bonus payments.

Semedo had been linked with a move to Manchester United but Barcelona swooped in, and reports say the player is overjoyed at getting to make a move to the Camp Nou.

The Portuguese international will sign for five seasons.
