Barcelona lost El Clásico for the second time in four days, this time at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid once again destroyed the Blaugrana en route to an easy 2-0 win that gave the Blancos their 10th Supercopa de España trophy, and Barça have A LOT of problems going into the start of the new season. Things are not looking good right now.
Ernesto Valverde changed his team to a back five in hopes of making them stronger defensively, but Marco Asensio scored a simply unbelievable long strike just four minutes into the match that killed any chances Barça had of coming back to win the Supercopa.
The Blaugrana tried to have the ball for the rest of the half trying to create chances, but Madrid continued to bring giant danger on the counter attack like in the first leg. The Blancos eventually doubled their lead when a cross from the left side found Karim Benzema, who was allowed to turn in the six-yard box and fire home the second.
At halftime, Barça were playing badly and were in danger of suffering a humiliating defeat.
Different half, same story: Madrid simply destroyed the Catalans, keeping the ball and passing it around while Barça chased it desperately. Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez both hit the posts in the only real chances the Blaugrana had in the entire match, and Real just ran out the clock for the final few minutes until the final whistle came.
The game ended, Real Madrid celebrated, and things look very, very bleak for Barcelona right now.
