We’ve been hearing rumors that Barcelona would announce various players very shortly, but it’s proven not to be the case before. So take this with a grain of salt. But several sources are reporting that Barça is on their way to completing the signing of Jean Seri this week, and today’s match against Napoli will be his last as an OGC Nice player.
Mohamed Bouhafsi from RMC Sport says Barcelona hope to complete the signing before Friday and tie him down for four years. He also reports Nice are “annoyed at Barcelona's behavior regarding the transfer.” There is a meeting today in which Nice will ask for money and a player.
Alfredo Martinez from Onda Cero said that player is likely to be Marlon Santos. It remains to be seen if it’s a loan or a purchase they want. I’m speculating here, but I don’t think Barça would let Marlon go permanently after just a few months of having him.
Edu Polo and Sergi Sole from Mundo Deportivo write that Seri has agreed personal terms with Barça. They say the Catalans are willing to pay the quoted 40 million euro price to secure his services. The negotiations are just to see if another deal can be reached, but if not, then Barça will pay the 40 million asking price.
They also report that Seri’s last game for Nice is today.
