The terrorist attack on Barcelona has left many dead and others wounded, but the city’s spirit is unbroken. And few show that as much as FC Barcelona fullback Lucas Digne, whom according to RAC1, ran out with towels and water to help the injured lying on the street.

The Frenchman lives close to Plaça Catalunya along with his wife, near where the attack occurred. His family was not among the injured, but upon hearing the noise and commotion caused by the attack, he ran downstairs and onto the street.

The player gave first aid and applied bandages to victims before emergency services arrived. Due to safety issues he, along with the average citizens turned anonymous heroes, were forced to go back inside.

The player has reportedly refused interviews to speak on the subject. FC Barcelona held a minute’s silence for the victims before their 2-0 win over Real Betis last week. Digne played a part in that match.
