Young defender Marlon Santos is set to go out on loan to OGC Nice tomorrow, according to Santi Ovalle reporting for Cadena SER. The initial agreement is for the Brazilian to be at the French club for two seasons. After the first, Barça could get him back. There is a buy option valued at 20 million euros.

At the moment it seems unconnected to a possible transfer for Jean Seri, which Barcelona seemingly ruled out today.

This loan could potentially mean Thomas Vermaelen will be Barcelona’s #4 CB after Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Javier Mascherano. Yerry Mina, who plays for Palmeiras, could reinforce the defense as well if he arrives in January.
