This does not sound good at all

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has given an update on Ousmane Dembele’s injury after he was forced off in the first half of Saturday’s win over Getafe.

The Frenchman had to be replaced by Gerard Deulofeu after picking up a hamstring injury and is now set for a spell out of action.

"He is going to have to spend some time on the sidelines," he said.

"It is a muscle problem. We think it is a tear, but we will do more tests on Sunday.

"It is a shame because he was just getting up to scratch with the team's dynamic. We hope he won't be out for a long time."

It seems like we will have to wait to find out exactly how long Dembele will be out for, but it’s almost certain he will miss Tuesday’s visit from Eibar.

After that Barca have games against Girona and Las Palmas in La Liga and Sporting in the Champions League before the next international break in October.

Let’s hope it’s not as bad as first feared - get well soon Ousmane!
