Marc-André ter Stegen

Not much the keeper could have done for the wonder strike from Shibasaki but elsewhere he was reasonably solid.

Sergi Roberto

A bit of tenacious work from Roberto along with Deulofeu allowed Barça a chance for the equaliser. Picking up the ball, Roberto dribbled his way through the box before placing the ball at the feet of Denis Suárez.

Samuel Umtiti

Late in the game, the pace of Umtiti was vital as he got back to snuff out a Getafe counter attack. What could of been seen as a penalty was actually a superbly timed tackle and stopped the home side from retaking the lead. He was consistent throughout,

Gerard Piqué

Weathered the storm of the first half before switching to an attack minded style in the second. Can sometimes be caught on the break but with the pace of the other defenders around him, the team can manage.

Sam says: 7.0

Jordi Alba

Saw plenty of the ball but didn’t really make the most of it as his passing accuracy let him down.

Sam says: 6.0

Ivan Rakitić

A fairly quiet game from the Croatian as he didn't really create any chances. His passing was very accurate but he was deservedly taken off in the 76th minute.

Andrés Iniesta

After a busy period of football, the captain looked tired and found it difficult to be as effective. Was taken off at half time.

Sergio Busquets

The midfield metronome kept Barça ticking with accurate passes and he saw plenty of the ball.

Sam says: 7.0

Ousmane Dembélé

Only played 28 minutes before picking up a nasty injury.

Luis Suárez

Relatively quiet as he again struggled with a defence that sat deep and therefore marked him out of the game. The Uruguayn isn’t in the best of form as of late and games like this won’t help.

Lionel Messi

Had one of Barça’s best chances with a superbly placed free kick that was met with an equally good save. Consistnely looking like the one to find the opening, Messi found Paulinho in the 84th minute who found the back of the net.

The man who many Barça fans came to see as a joke has gone a long way to winning them over after firing in Barcelona’s winner. It was a well taken goal as he had a lot to do when he received Messi’s pass. Some neat footwork allowed him to work space into the box and he finished superbly.

Denis Suárez

A lovely finish from the substitute to give Barcelona the equaliser. Planting his foot on the ball before placing it into the far corner, it was a wonderfully executed finish.

Sam says: 7.5

Gerard Deulofeu

Did well to create the first Barça goal as he refused to give up possession. Sergi Roberto aided him and Barcelona found the comeback goal. Elsewhere, he wasn’t overly effective despite playing a large portion of the game.

The Team

Improved in the second half after a poor first half performance.

Ernesto Valverde

Made smart changes with the introduction of Denis Suárez and Paulinho.
