Barcelona have eight players nominated for the long list of the FIFPro World XI 2017 as the names of the 55 nominees have been released.

FIFPro, the World Players’ Union, invites all professional footballers to chose a team based on the best performances from last year.

The team must contain a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three attackers and the players who received the most votes have now been named.

Barcelona are well represented with eight nominations: Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Javier Mascherano, Leo Messi, Gerard Piqué, Luis Suarez and Samuel Umtiti are all nominated.

A full list of all the nominees can be found here.
