Barcelona announce squad for Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon

Ernesto Valverde has called up 20 players for the trip to Portugal

The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana are in Portugal for their second Champions League group stage game against Sporting Lisbon, and Ernesto Valverde called up on Monday 20 players for the trip. Only 18 will be in uniform for tonight’s game.

This is the full squad:

Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Jasper Cillessen, 31. Adrián Ortolá

Defenders: 2. Nélson Semedo, 3. Gerard Piqué, 14. Javier Mascherano, 18. Jordi Alba, 19. Lucas Digne, 22. Aleix Vidal, 23. Samuel Umtiti

Midfielders: 4. Ivan Rakitic, 5. Sergio Busquets, 6. Denis Suarez, 8. Andrés Iniesta, 15. Paulinho Bezerra, 20. Sergi Roberto, 21. André Gomes

Forwards: 9. Luis Suárez, 10. Lionel Messi, 16. Gerard Deulofeu

Valverde calls two extra players for the first European trip of the season, just in case something weird happens. The injured Rafinha Alcântara and Ousmane Dembélé miss out along with Thomas Vermaelen, Arda Turan and Paco Alcácer.

Ter Stegen; Semedo, Piqué, Umtiti, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Deulofeu, Messi, Suárez
