Agusti Benedito is taking big steps to oust Josep Maria Bartomeu as FC Barcelona president as he leads the motion of no-confidence. He claims he has 14,000 Barça socis ready to sign onto the call for a vote to remove Bartomeu, which represents a significant step.
Benedito needs 16,500 signatures to call for an official vote on whether to remove Bartomeu as president. Getting that many signatures seems attainable. However, winning the vote - in which you need a 2/3rds majority - is a bigger task.
Still, with the disappointing summer transfer window and murmurs of a rift between Bartomeu and Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, there is reason for the current president to worry.
This continues to be an important movement to watch.
