After a somewhat tumultuous start to this season, Luis Suarez came back to life in December for Barcelona. Suarez scored in every game he played in and scored five goals in four games, including one in the 3-0 win over Real Madrid.
Suarez had only grabbed three La Liga goals before the month of November and his form was of great concern to Barcelona supporters.
But while goals can sometimes dry up over spells of time, the class of Luis Suarez came to the forefront. As the Champions League heats up, Barcelona will need the consistent attacking threat of Suarez up front.
Even when he isn’t scoring goals, the threat of Suarez up top is enough for opposing teams’ centre-backs to remain consumed with throughout the game. This then provides space for the wingers and attacking midfielders of Barcelona to attack with freedom.
