Barcelona have seen some departures this winter with Javier Mascherano set to follow Arda Turan and Rafinha out of the club.
While Arda and Rafinha are heading out on loan, although both deals could become permanent, Mascherano is leaving for China and received a great send-off from the club on Wednesday.
Manager Ernesto Valverde and the first-team were all at a special ceremony to pay tribute to the Argentine and Messi also took to social media afterwards to post his own tribute.

He wrote: “Arda Turan, I wish you the best of luck in the next stage of your life back in your home country, I’m sure you’ll be great.
“Rafinha Alcantara, I also wish you a lot of success in Italy, we’ll always keep an eye on you.
“And to you, Javier Alejandro Mascherano, after so many games and moments spent together, words won’t do it justice.
“You know I’ll miss you. It will be strange to go to the dressing room and not have you sat by my side. But, I will see you soon with the National Team. A big hug to each of you and I wish you all the best! Lio.”
Messi wasn’t the only one saying goodbye as Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ivan Rakitic also posted messages of farewell.
