With Javier Mascherano certain to leave this winter transfer window, a replacement defender is basically a requirement. And that defender is likely to be Palmeiras centerback Yerry Mina.
According to information from Mundo Deportivo, Barça submitted an offer for the Colombian yesterday. The opening offer was rejected but both parties are said to be willing to work towards an agreement. Barcelona have an option to bring Mina after the World Cup for 9 million euro, so the question is how much more the Catalans will pay to speed up the transfer.
Gerard Romero has tweeted that Mina will travel next week to Barcelona to close his transfer. This is looking like it might happen.
