FC Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba will be a target for Manchester United, TalkSPORT reports. The fullback is hoping to get a contract renewal soon, but he has yet to receive an offer.

Barcelona plans to renew Alba during the second part of this season, sometime in 2019, according to Mundo Deportivo. But Alba’s agents are getting impatient and want the negotiations to start sooner.

Renewals were given to Marc-André Ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitić, Luis Suárez, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Piqué, Lionel Messi, Samuel Umtiti and Sergio Busquets. But Alba hasn’t gotten his yet, despite his good level and his importance in the dressing room.

The club is reportedly aware of the situation but they do not want to change their plans. They insist that they will renew the contract when the time calls for it.

With only 21 months left on the contract, United are on alert. They are quite keen on the left-back and would be extremely eager to bring him in.

However, until further notice, the rumors suggest both Alba and Barça are willing to strike a deal. The question is whether it will come to fruition soon.
