Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was a surprise visitor at the Mini Estadi on Saturday to take in Barcelona’s B clash with Cornella.

Pochettino was pictured in the stands for the game, which Barcelona B won 2-1 thanks to goals from Carles Perez and Abel Ruiz.

His presence inevitably prompted speculation as to what he was doing watching García Pimienta’s side in action.

Sport reckon that the idea he was scouting Barcelona’s youngsters can’t be ruled out and mention Carles Alena, Riqui Puig or Abel Ruiz might be targets.

However, Pochettino has previously talked about his plans for the international break and his reason for heading to Barcelona.

“We are going to talk about football,” he said. “The Catalan Federation asked us to go there and talk with the Catalan coaches, and I think it is a great opportunity to share, and explain how the Premier League is and Tottenham.”

Pochettino will be back in Barcelona with his first team in just under a month for their Champions League clash at the Camp Nou.
