Barcleona could dip into the transfer window in January after Rafinha ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian is not expected to play again this season and could also miss next summer’s Copa America.

Diego Simeone has defended his team’s style after Saturday’s draw with Barcelona. He said: “Neither of us had clear chances to score. It was a tactical battle and they did well to pick up a point.Our styles were very similar because we were both playing for something similar. I liked everything my team did. They showed commitment and came close to winning.”
Andres Iniesta was involved in a brawl at the end of Vissel Kobe’s 3-3 draw with Shimizu S-Pulse. The game was into its 14th minute (!) of stoppage time when Shimizu goalkeeper Yuji Rokutan scored an equaliser and shortly afterward Wellington was sent off for an elbow which sparked a brawl.
Everton manager Marco Silva says he hopes to keep hold of Andre Gomes after an impressive display against Cardiff on Saturday. He said: “I think in the right moment we have to do something to achieve one player like Andre. We have time to do that. We are happy with him, he is enjoying the moment here and I don’t think it is a good moment to talk every week because it’s better they (Barcelona) forget a little bit about Andre!”
Barcelona target Frenkie de Jong has played down comparisons with legend Johan Cruyff. He said: “I try not to take notice of comparisons and focus on what I have to do,” he said. “Of course it’s good that you’re compared with [Cruyff], but I am a long way from his level and I will never be him.”
