Barcelona offered an update on Samuel Umtiti’s current fitness situation after the defender missed the Champions League win over PSV with knee trouble.
The France international is only just back from nearly two months out due to the injury but will now head to Qatar for more treatment.
“The first team player Samuel Umtiti will follow a plan of conservative treatment with the objective of curing the discomfort in his left knee.
“The player will travel to Doha, Qatar where he will follow this therapeutic plan under the supervision of the Club’s Medical Services.”

There’s no confirmation of how long he’ll be out for, but it’s possible he will not feature again for Barcelona in 2018.
Clement Lenglet will step in for Umtiti while he’s out, but the news will be a real worry for Barcelona ahead of the season half of the season.
