Current Brighton & Hove Albion and former FC Barcelona fullback Martín Montoya says he thinks Neymar, his former teammate, wants to return fo Barça. In an interview with Goal.com, Montoya said: “I think Neymar wants to go back because he was really comfortable and adapted the three years he was at the club.”
Montoya twice insisted such a move would be difficult, because “Paris is also a great team and I don’t think they will let him leave easily. Paris paid a big amount of money for him and I don’t think Barcelona would pay the same price for him [to come back].”
However, Montoya speculated that the Paris Saint-Germain star misses his “great connection” with fellow South Americans Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez.
The La Masia product also tagged the blaugrana as favorites to win the UEFA Champions League this year, although he recognized it will be a very difficult competition. Aside from playing for Barcelona, Montoya spent time at Inter Milan, who play Barça next.
