Ernesto Valverde seemed pretty happy with Ousmane Dembele after the Frenchman scored a superb individual goal against Tottenham on Tuesday.

The youngster opened the scoring in style on seven minutes, with Spurs grabbing a draw thanks to a late Lucas Moura goal.

The goal came after reports Dembele had been late for training again, but Valverde spoke highly of the youngster after the match.

“He has made a great goal, within reach of players with his talent,” he said.

”We are happy with him and we said that throughout the season things happen that we try to solve internally, we hope that he and the rest will continue to give us many joys.

“We controlled the game well in the first half, Dembele’s goal reassured us and then we had a little trouble.”

Valverd was also asked if Dembele’s latest issue was now forgotten about and added “I do not know, tomorrow we have training!”
