De Jong ‘really close’ to Barcelona move

Today’s rumors start off with an update on Frenkie de Jong’s future courtesy of the good people at Sport.

Apparently the midfielder’s agent has met with other clubs but the player himself is determined to move to the Camp Nou next summer.

De Jong likes Pep Guardiola but has doubts about a move to Manchester City, he also doesn’t seem to fancy a move to PSG too much either.

Barcelona are said to have grown more confident that they can land the Dutchman as “the player’s desire is clear” that a move to the Spanish champions is his priority.

De Ligt and De Jong waiting for Barca

Over at Mundo Depotivo there’s a similar story, with news that both De Jong and Matthijs de Ligt are waiting on Barcelona.

The two players want to keep playing together, like Barcelona and feel they would fit in perfectly at the Camp Nou.

De Jong thinks Barcelona are “ideal” and De Ligt is of a similar opinion, although he realises he will have to battle Gerard Pique for a starting spot initially.

Valencia keen on Denis Suarez

Meanwhile, Denis Suarez has emerged as a target for Valencia, according to Superdeporte.

The midfielder is none too pleased with his lack of game time at Barca, and Marcelino is keen to bring some more creativity to the Mestalla.

Injury to Goncalo Guedes has also increased Valencia’s desire to strengthen in January.

Chelsea & Arsenal favourites to land Denis

However, Valencia are apparently set to face stiff competition for Denis from Premier League sides Chelsea and Arsenal.

Marca report that the midfielder will definitely leave in January and could be on his way to England.

Denis would be happy to return to the Premier League, and there has already been contact between the players and his representatives.
