Barcelona have confirmed that Thomas Vermaelen will miss the next four weeks of action after picking up yet another injury on Sunday.
The centre-back was replaced early in the second half against Levante and will now be sidelined for the next month.
“The first team player Thomas Vermaelen felt a problem in Sunday’s game away at Levante,” read a club statement.
“Tests carried out on the defender show that he has a torn muscle in his right calf and will be out for around 4 weeks.”

Barca are suffering real injury problems currently in defence with Sergi Roberto, Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti all sidelined.
At this point it would not be a big surprise if the club opted to bring in a defender during the transfer window to act as cover.
