André Gomes had to spend a day at the hospital due to a stomach virus, which also affected Sergio Busquets, manager Ernesto Valverde, and one of the physios, José Antonio Pozanco.
Gomes was the worst affected, and he was running a fever for days. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, though he was able to sleep at his own house that night. Still, he was in no shape to play Valencia on Thursday.
The rest, thankfully, were in good enough shape to take part, with Busquets starting the match.
Gomes should be all right for this weekend’s game against Espanyol.
