Jordi Alba and Luis Suárez tried, in ridiculous fashion, to get a yellow card during FC Barcelona’s 6-1 triumph over Girona. The pair were hoping to get banned for the match against Las Palmas by receiving their fifth yellow, resetting the count for the rest of the season and allowing them to be clear to play against Atlético Madrid.
Alba got his wish and is suspended for the next match, but the Uruguayan was not so lucky. El Día Después captures both players trying to get booked in increasingly desperate ways. Suárez tried every trick in the book, from timewasting, to arguing, to blocking a free kick illegally, to fouling, to a handball that morphed into a trip. All to no avail.
